Boiler water classification
Doing a good job in boiler water quality treatment is directly related to the safe and economic operation and service life of the boiler The good quality of boiler water is an important factor for the safe and economical operation of boilers Therefore, learning and mastering some basic properties of water, taking appropriate water treatment measures, is essential for water treatment management and furnace operators This article will briefly introduce the basic knowledge of water treatment for hot water boilers and boiler water quality standards
Boiler water classification:
Boiler water can generally be divided into the following types based on its location and function:
1. Raw water (source water)
Also known as raw water, it refers to natural water that has not been treated in any way The raw water mainly comes from river water, well water, or urban tap water
2. Water supply
The water that directly enters the boiler and is evaporated or heated by the boiler is called boiler feedwater Water supply is usually composed of a mixture of supply water and production return water
3. Supply water
During the operation of the boiler, some water is lost due to sampling, discharge, leakage, etc., and the production return water is contaminated and cannot be recycled, or there is no steam return water. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement water that meets the water quality requirements. This part of water is called make-up water Supply water is the portion of boiler feedwater that is replenished after a certain amount of production recovery is removed Because boiler feedwater has two specific quality requirements, the feedwater generally needs to undergo appropriate treatment When the boiler does not produce return water, the supply water is equal to the feed water
4. Production return water
After the thermal energy of steam boilers or hot water is utilized, the condensed water or low-temperature water should be recovered as much as possible, and the recycled water is called production return water Increasing the proportion of return water in the water supply can not only improve water quality, but also reduce the workload of producing makeup water If steam or hot water has been severely contaminated during the production process, it cannot be recycled
5. Softened water
The raw water undergoes softening treatment to achieve a certain standard of total hardness, and this type of water is called softened water Abbreviated as soft water
6. Pot water
The water flowing in the operating boiler system is called boiler water Abbreviated as Guoshui
7. Sewage discharge
In order to remove impurities (excessive salt, alkalinity, etc.) and suspended water slag from the boiler water and ensure that the boiler water quality meets the requirements of GB1576 water quality standard, a portion of the boiler water must be discharged from a certain part of the boiler, which is called wastewater
8. Cooling water
The water used to cool a certain accessory equipment of a boiler during operation is called cooling water Cooling water is often raw water
